Hi, I'm Hanna.

I'm a photographer, Blogger, Traveler and adventure seeker who loves the outdoors and cannot wait to have seen the world someday.

"Nothing behind me, everything ahead of me,
as is ever so on the road."
- Jack Kerouac
this is my story.

I'm Hanna. I'm 31 years old and currently living south of Munich, Germany with the mountains in sight. A while ago I have decided to make my passion my profession. I've always loved taking pictures and still remember those many holidays with my first camera, where I took a thousand pictures of which only a few ever made it to print.
But let me tell you a little more about myself...

I grew up in Elz, a small town about 45 minutes from Frankfurt. I'm an only child and for as long as I can remember me and my parents spent every summer in Austria hiking. I loved it and I never wanted to leave at the end of pretty much every vacation there.
When I grew older, I wanted to see other things and so we travelled to some of the most beautiful cities all over Europe and flew to the Canary Islands.

With 16 years old, I moved more than 8.000 km away from home to small town of Rigby, ID. This was the first time I left the country truly by myself and also the continent of Europe. I had dreamed of this experience for quite a while back then and would have never imagined, that about 12 years later, I can still say in all honesty that it was the best year of my life. I suddenly had a place on the other side of the world to call home and a second family to call my own.

Not only did I learn a new language, got to know a new culture - and yes it is different to the European one - but also grew up in a heart beat. This year taught me respect for opinions, beliefs and so many more aspects of life, that aren't my own. It has taught me to be humble about all the things I've been taking for granted until then. And it has definitely shown me how much there is yet to see all around the world.

Since I've returned back home to Germany after these 10 months full of experiences the word and meaning of wanderlust have accompanied most of my days.

After finishing high school back home, I decided it was time to move out and build my own life. Convinced that mechanical engineering was really what I wanted to do as a grown up, I applied at the Technical University of Munich. I was accepted and couldn't have been more thrilled to move as far as 450 km away from home. Life was going well, however, I soon realized, that my studies were nothing like what I expected.

Even if it soon turned out that I was still unsure of what I wanted to do with my life, it all had an upside to it. I recovered my love for the mountains and hiking all over again. I now try to spend all of my free time roaming somewhere in the Bavarian alps discovering new gems and less visited places - not too easy to do actually.

After a few more changes of studies and professions and finally working in a nine to five job in IT Consulting, I started to question what I was even doing with my life more and more. Who do I want to be? What is the value in what I do? What good does it do? None of these questions could I ever answer to my content.
So it was only logical to finally change something about that and do what I love at last - photography.

I now spend almost every weekend in the mountains or exploring new places in the area or abroad.
I would love for you to follow along on my journey, to share my own and learn from your experiences.

Thank you for being here!

These last three photos were taken by the incredibly talented Carmen Huter on her Alps & Dolomites Photo Tour in August 2022 (edited by me).

From November 2022 to February 2023 I went on a totally different adventure and rode my bike more than 1500 km through Chile and Argentina and hiked more than 200 km through Patagonia. Blog posts about this trip of a lifetime are still in the making, so stay tuned. But here are just a few impressions of three incredible months.
